Battlefield 6 Players Agree: Missions Are Excessively Difficult
The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received significant enthusiasm, particularly for its flagship multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, live player figures surged to nearly 750,000. Nevertheless, despite its popularity, a growing number of players are expressing frustration over a portion of the release's toughest challenges, which are necessary to access certain guns.
Gamers have begun turning to custom matches made via the Portal feature to complete them, emphasizing just how grueling these missions have become.
Grasping Battlefield 6 Objectives
Missions serve as Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the periodically changed daily and weekly challenges. There are four types of assignments, but while the majority only reward cosmetics and some tools, achieving the firearm tasks is the sole method of obtaining a dozen out of forty-one primary weapons present in the game.
Several of these restricted firearms might eventually find their way on rosters of the top weapons in Battlefield 6.
Community Frustration on Reddit
On Reddit, players are understandably expressing their worries about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most egregious examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
- Deal 10,000 close-range damage with LMGs
"This task is so atrocious and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a comment that illustrates just how excessively challenging these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many advantages in battle as it did in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you miss multiple shots in a row.
Additionally, firing an LMG without aiming is highly imprecise and functions solely at point-blank proximity, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The same user also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, needed to obtain the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Ridiculously Tough Task
A different forum member pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, within the marksman rifle class to access the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with marksman guns
This is challenging enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.
There's a healthy variety of map sizes, but because there are just nine battlegrounds in the game right now, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, another expansive area, and perhaps Operation Firestorm if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.
The Bypass
However, there is a solution: Battlefield Portal. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to make custom game modes on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This implies you can bypass the intended method… but it doesn't exactly feel like the spirit of the game.
Yet, if doing the challenges in a normal session feels like anti-playing, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that offers no advantage to anyone, is it surprising for completing them in a personal session so allies are not impaired?
Future Adjustments
It is expected if some of these assignments are toned down in the coming days or weeks, because unless they are modified, some players simply are unlikely to obtain the restricted guns.
For now, the community continues to voice their opinions on these demanding multiplayer missions, anticipating a fairer gaming experience in future updates.
