Paramount Skydance Set to Cut Approximately 2,000 United States Roles – News

Skydance Paramount plans to initiate mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, cutting about 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts come after the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August valued at $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are anticipated, with the company aiming to announce full details during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Prior news suggested the firm was looking to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.

By December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts and 3,500 project-based staff.

The company has not yet commented on the matter.
