The Prince of Wales Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in Brazil

The Prince of Wales will represent the United Nations climate conference in Brazil during November, according to royal officials.

Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday night at a reception preceding the climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in the Amazonian city of Belem.

The King and Prince were participating in the scientific institution event, marking an rare public appearance together at a climate summit preparatory event organized in partnership with the UK government.

Climate Leadership Commitment

The King has been a longstanding advocate of biodiversity preservation - and the Prince of Wales has taken on the baton, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be taking place in South America before the UN meeting.

Official representatives have portrayed the Prince's participation at the next COP as taking on an crucial position in "climate diplomacy".

Previous Activities

The monarch and his heir, arriving together in the state Bentley, were welcomed guests including environmentalists, researchers, environmental activists, foreign representatives and politicians.

This involvement featured addresses alongside French leader Macron of France and other international figures at the Marine Economy Conference in the Principality of Monaco earlier this year.

The UN meeting will align with the the royal's sustainability recognition program, which will finish in the Brazilian city the previous day he attends the climate conference on November 6th.
